Glenn Ferris born in Los Angeles, played with Don Ellis innovative big band when he was only 16. Ferris also played with Frank Zappa, Stevie Wonder, Dave Frishberg, Billy Cobham, Steve Lacy, Manu Dibango, Louis Sclavis, Michel Portal and many others. He is a member of the now sucessful group Palatino (with Romano/Fresu/Benita). Critics say about Glenn Ferris : „Ferris not only stands at the forefront of the evolution of the Trombone but at the forefront of today’s New Generation of Serious Creative Musicians“ (Down Beat) „This trio reveals in Glenn Ferris a sort of Stan Getz of the trombone, doubling as composer, arranger diabolically cultivated“ (Michel Contat) „from one end to the other a warmth and an intimacy that one rarely finds in a jazz production. Without doubt because the man has imagination to spare“ (Claude Carriere) El Pais called his last recording „one of the most beautiful and innovative records“ Rolling Stone praised Ferris: „…he is not only a virtuoso trombonist with a velvety sound, the concept of a trio with trombone, cello, bass has been realized with much orginality and it takes your breath away.“
